How a stamp goes down

Mat, release, tamp, cure.

1

The mat

Rubber stamp mats in ashlar slate, cobble, or wood-plank patterns are laid edge to edge across the fresh pour.

2

The release

Release agent keeps the mats from sticking and settles into the low spots for natural-looking color variation.

3

The tamp

Each mat is tamped firmly so the pattern presses deep and every seam lands clean against the next.

4

The cure

The slab cures, then stain and sealer lock in the color. The pattern is in the concrete, not on it.

Cobblestone stamped concrete pool deck in afternoon light

Stamped pool deck, cobble pattern. The texture is pressed into the slab itself, so it never peels or lifts.
